Terms of Service

Effective date: July 2, 2026

These terms govern your use of PaperPilot AI at paperpilotai.com. By creating an account or using the service you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

1. What the service is

PaperPilot AI is a guided writing assistant: you upload your course materials, and the service helps you plan, outline, draft, revise, and review academic writing, with AI-generated suggestions along the way. It is a drafting aid — not a ghostwriter, and not a substitute for your own work and judgment.

2. Academic integrity

This platform is designed to support learning, writing development, revision, and academic communication. It should not be used to misrepresent authorship, bypass course requirements, or submit work that violates academic integrity policies.

Students are responsible for reviewing, editing, fact-checking, citing, and verifying all content before submission. Students should only submit work that they understand and can explain.

  • You must confirm the academic-integrity commitment before using drafting features.
  • Every export includes an AI-use disclosure describing how AI assisted the work.
  • You are responsible for complying with your school's honor code and your instructor's policies on AI use. Misuse of the service to misrepresent authorship may result in account termination.

3. Your account

You must provide accurate account information and keep your sign-in credentials secure. You must be old enough to consent to these terms in your jurisdiction (at least 13, and at least the age required by your school or region).

4. Plans, credits, and billing

  • AI-powered actions consume credits. Each plan grants a credit allowance; unused plan credits expire at the end of the billing period. Purchased top-up credits do not expire.
  • Payments are processed by Stripe. Subscriptions renew automatically until canceled; you can cancel anytime and keep access through the paid period.
  • Except where required by law, fees are non-refundable.
  • Prices and credit allowances may change; we will give notice before changes take effect on renewal.

5. Your content

You retain all rights to the materials you upload and the writing you create. You grant us a limited license to store and process that content solely to provide the service — including sending it to our AI model provider to generate the outputs you request. We do not sell your content.

6. Acceptable use

  • No uploading content you do not have the right to use.
  • No attempting to breach, probe, or overload the service, or to access other users' data.
  • No reselling or automated scraping of the service.
  • No use that violates law, school policy, or these terms.

7. AI output disclaimer

AI-generated content can be wrong, incomplete, or miss your instructor's intent, and citations may be inaccurate. The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. You must review, verify, and edit everything before submitting it.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PaperPilot AI is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages — including academic consequences of submitting unreviewed work. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

9. Termination

You can delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. Sections 5, 7, and 8 survive termination.

10. Changes and contact

We may update these terms; material changes will be announced in the app or by email before they take effect. Questions: support@paperpilotai.com.
